Lexical transformations in the translation of english economic texts
Abstract
The aim of this research is to study the features of lexical transformations in the translation of economic texts from English into Russian. Special attention is given to terminology, which plays a key role in specialized texts. The main types of lexical transformations are described: transcription, transliteration, calquing, as well as lexico-semantic substitutions. Examples of the practical application of these techniques and their importance for achieving translation equivalence are provided. It is concluded that the ability to use lexical transformations is an important skill for a translator, as they help to achieve equivalence between the source and target text.
